Shu- manova Provenance: - 1923: purchased in Berlin by Karlis Miesnieks (a famous Latvian artist) during his studies in Ber- lin 1922-1923. Miesnieks mentioned his attendance at the famous Erste Russische Kunstaustellung at Galerie van Diemen & Co in 1922, which included Chagall’s works. In 1923, Miesnieks painted Still Life with Doll, where the lithograph Old Jew was included in the composition; the painting was exhibited in 1923 in the National Latvian Museum in its large show of Latvian art; -1990s: acquired from the heirs of Karlis Miesnieks by Moscow Cultural Business Center, Riga, Latvia; -2004: acquired from above by Latvian collector, Arthur Avotinsh, Riga; -2010: Private Collection, Paris-Tallinn; Exhibitions: - July-August, 2014, “Summer show”, New York
