He was the founder of New Painters’ Community (1921-22), worked for the Left Front (LEF) and Izobrigade (1932). He was a painter and graphic artist. He decorated books and films, wrote banners, painted portraits, genre scenes, and landscapes. Stylistically, he was close to primitive and folk art. He graduated from Odessa Art College (1912 to 1917) and continued his education at the Free State Art Studios in Moscow under Tatlin. He worked in different stylistic manners, including cinema of the 1920- 1930s, as well as political and magazine graphics. He worked together with Mayakovsky. The 1920-1930s was
