Liubov Popova was a Russian avant-garde painter and designer active across Cubo-Futurism, Suprematism and Constructivism. Born near Moscow to a wealthy merchant family, she studied in Moscow and Paris before becoming a central figure of the Soviet Constructivist movement, producing influential textile and stage designs alongside her paintings. She died in Moscow in 1924, shortly after contracting scarlet fever from her young son, cutting short a career at its creative peak.
